Happy 5th Birthday Lukie Dukie!

Lucas' 5th Birthday was yesterday. My new laptop is out of order already :( It has been sent to the "Zacintosh" repair shop. ;) Therefore, I currently do not have any pictures of Lucas' birthday party. But, I'll give a little insight on it ... quickly ... I'm at work and have our Monday morning conference call in just two minutes.

We held Lukie's party at an Upper Arlington Park. Earlier in the week, last week, I called the UA Fire Department and asked if they could come out to his party. They apparently have few fires to handle and do this as a service for free to residence of UA. Anyhow, all week long it was saying rain on Saturday. I kept praying for it to hold off or skip over us.

Saturday morning Lucas had his first soccer game. Gary, Papa and Grandma went to this, while I went to secure our shelter house at the park and get everything set up. The weather was looking perfect! I was so excited. A lady at the park even helped me decorate. She was very impressed with Gary's camouflage cake he made ;) ... I wish I had a pic to show. It was quite good.

Anyhow, at 1:00 (the time the party was to start) down came the rain. Luckily, pavillion was plenty big and we didnt' HAVE to get wet if we didn't want to. Of course, my nephews wanted too. They were dripping wet before we even cut the cake. At 1:30, the UA Fire Truck pulls in and the kids were allowed to climb in it and play around. It really poured then, and I was pretty soaked. :( They gave out little plastic fire fighter hats, that I think the kids really liked.

After the fire fighters left, my brother decided it would be a good idea to pick my mother up, drag her out in the rain, push up to the top of the jungle gym thing, and make her go down the slide w/ HIS son. It was one of those twisty slides, plus it was wet, mom NEARLY fell off the side of the slide, again w/ my brother's son. *eyes rolling* ... it was hilarious!

All in all, the rain really wasn't that bad anyhow. It made for a memorable 5th birthday party for Lucas - who by the way, went home COMPLETELY dry :)

Oh, I hate to go on and on, but Lucas has been so funny about his 5th birthday. He is SO proud he is 5. He really thinks he has to go to Kindergarten RIGHT NOW! So, he will be at school today telling all the Kindergarteners, that he too is 5. I didn't tell him, that most likely, the Kindergarteners are probably 6 now, b/c they've had their birthday this year. ;)

Anyhow, every year, I suppose I'll say this - BUT, I can not believe how old he is getting. I really am enjoying this somewhat "older" stage ;) He is so much fun and makes everyone laugh and smile. He really has a funny outgoing personality. He is my baby and my best buddy and I love that. He told me the other day that girls are nasty and they give nasty kisses. The only person he wants to kiss is me, all other girls are nasty :) *sigh* ... I will try to post pics as soon as I can.
