Our St. Lucia Honeymoon

So, these are the pics from our honeymoon. It's been over a month now since we went and it seems like an eternity. We had sooooooo much fun!!! It was the first time Gary and I ever had time alone together for more than just a few hours. At first, at least for me, it was kind of hard to relax and not feel like I should be doing SOMETHING. But, it didnt' take long to get used to it. :) At first I was kind of missing Lucas, but then I got over that too. I knew he was having fun and he and I would have plenty of time together when I got back.

The Sandals Resort was beautiful and they treated you like royalty. The restaurants were wonderful and delicious. Our room was very nice and had a balcony that looked right over the beach. It was so nice to wake up every morning with the beach right outside your bedroom window. It was the perfect segue from a fairy tale wedding to a fairy tale honeymoon. The ocean was clear blue water.

We did a lot of fun things, but probably one of the best things we did was a zip line through the rain forest. It was soooo much fun. We were so high up and to "fly" above all that was pretty nerve wracking. As laid back as Gary is, even his hands were shaking!

On our way to the zip line ... we passed this mountain ... apparently a scene from Pirate of the Caribbean was filmed here. Does anyone recognize this???

Then, we saw this mountain ... it is suppose to look like a lion. Can you see the head of the lion??? Apparently, a week before we got to St. Lucia, two couples went to this mountain to cliff jump and they died doing it. :( Not a smart idea!

This was our view from dinner one night. It was beautiful.

Gary and I typically sat out by the beach & pool during the evenings after dinner. They had entertainment every night, and we'd watch from afar and listen to the ocean. A couple nights we did go in and listen to the music and dance.

Tubing was so much fun!!! I have told Gary I can't tell you how many times I want to buy a boat so we can do things like this all the time. He never really says anything ... so, I don't think it was a "no" quite yet :) But, if he has a Harley and a convertible Mustang ... why can't I get a boat? Right???

I did golf a couple holes :) And, we did not mean to match this day. I had on a much cuter outfit that included plaid shorts and a white tank top. But, apparently you can't wear tank tops golfing. How dumb is that?! So, I had to change and I had no short sleeve shirt to match my plaid shorts :(

We were on our way here to snorkel. That was a lot of fun too! I wish we had made the time to go scuba diving. If we ever get the chance to do something like this again, I think we'd definitely get certified and go scuba. Snorkeling was awesome, but it just wasn't quite enough.

Pool bar ... now, that is pretty friggin sweet!! They had all the fruity girly drinks you could imagine. :)

This was at an italian restaurant. Don't we look sorta silly the way we are holding hands? Kinda dorky I think. haha ...

This was a japanese restaurant. It wasn't quite the same as what I'm used to. But, it was fun and the guy making our meal was hilarious. I tried to wear my hair curly that night. What a disaster that was.

This was our last night ... we danced quite a bit and I was a sweaty mess. It was the perfect ending really. I was kind of surprised Gary was willing to dance so much.

Our Beautiful Wedding

Okay, so I'm awful and haven't posted any pictures of the wedding. Some of you I've shared over email, but I will make an official "blog" of it now :) First of all, in my humble opinion (and certainly I'm not biased in the least) my wedding was FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!! :) I loved every thing about it. God really came through for us with beautiful weather. It's hard to put down in words since I'm not the best writer in the world ... but, I'll just put it this way -- It was the wedding of my dreams, truly a fairy tale, and really much more than I had imagined. Gary and I both feel extremely blessed with how things turned out.
Now with that said, there were a few mishaps along our road. My computer crashed twice during the planning process causing me to lose wedding stuff. You would think I'd learn my lesson and back up. I actually was making backups, but apparently not often enough. Three days before the wedding one of my brides maids got sick and was not able to make the flight from Florida. :( Which was pretty devastating at first. But, the show must go on, right? Then the day of the wedding, 3 hours before the ceremony, I'm getting my dress on (we wanted to take all the pictures we could without Gary & I prior to the ceromony) ... my dress zipper breaks. I want to point out here, it absolutely did not break because the dress was too tight. David's Bridal makes crappy dresses I believe and the zipper just broke. Mom & my sister had to take it to David's Bridal right then and there to get it fixed. Can you imagine my frustration!?! But, I have to say, at that point, I kept my cool pretty well.

Anyhow, on a happy note, Gary played his best golf of his life that day. If you know Gary, you'd know how much he LOVES golf and how cool that was for him. I was so excited for him.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED my cake. It's called a Topsy Turvy cake and mom thinks this suits me just fine because that how I lead my life --- a little ass backwards. hehe ...

Anyhow, I just want to point out that my photographer was a great friend of mine, Arminda. Arminda has never taking wedding photos before. As a matter of fact, Arminda has taught herself everything she knows about taking pictures while being a stay at home mom to two beautiful boys. Her photos are not too shabby, huh? They are absolutely beautiful!!! :)
I have honeymoon photos I will share, hopefully soon. Because that too was absolutely amazing!!!

My wedding shower :)

Here is a vain post with a bunch of pics of me. I hesitate to post pics of myself on here b/c I don't want to come across self centered. But, who cares?! I had a really fun shower at my mom's best friend's house, Carol. The original shower was canceled because of a blizzard. But, we had a beautiful day (the shower was April 26th ... so, again, I'm a little behind on posting).

This is my goddaughter, Lillian. She seemed to be just one of us and was very sweet.

My aunt painted and framed this for me. I thought it was so cute :)

Arminda gave me an AWESOME present. She created a storyboard for me. It was 3 photographs on either side, was a pic of Gary & I, the middle is Gary, Lucas & I. The title says "Three hearts become one family", then the bottom says "June 20, 2008". It was the cutest, sweetest, present ever! I LOVED it!!!! Thank you Arminda!! :) :)

This is a pic of me squeezing some weird chicken that had an egg that would pop out when you squeezed it. Sadly, Lucas broke the chickens water later that day, and the chicken is no longer with us - R.I.P. Chickie

Better late than never Bday pics

Sorry it has taken me so long to post Lucas' bday pics. I have no excuse other than my life is extremely busy and work BLOCKED me from blogging for a while. :( I am back up today for some reason. Here are the pics that go along w/ my story of Lukie's party. Gary has pics of Lucas playing soccer (he is on a little league and doing quite good). But, I have to get the uploaded from gary's camera. So, that is for a later post. Enjoy :P
