Happy Easter

i don't know about anybody else ... but, easter snuck up on us. it's not like i didn't know it was early this year. it just seemed like it wasn't quite here yet. maybe it had something to do with the blizzard we had a couple weeks prior. but, it came, obviously. and, we celebrated christ's resurection. we had a great weekend. we colored eggs, hid easter baskets, hung w/ family, and had egg hunts. our church service was great!!! anyhow, here are some pics of our weekend.

i am not much of a decorator, crafty, artsy, etc ... so here are our completely imperfect eggs

easter dinner was at my aunt and uncle's house for the first time ever. i thought they did a fabulous job. they set out their fine china just like my grandparents used to.

yes, gary is a cool guys. gotta love him.

i have been trying to style lukie's hair lately (usually i'm too lazy to bother), but it always tends to fall down. this isn't very encouraging. i'm probably just going to go back to my old ways.

this is one of my handsome nephews caleb. it's not very often i take a photo and it turns out this good. so cute!

i don't think joey wanted to pause too long for his egg hunt. it was nice he stopped at all! :)

we went to the nearby school playground. i think the adults had more fun playing on the jungle gym then the kids. my arms are hurting today!! but, here --- i actually am not using my arms at all! now that there is some talent!!

2008 Blizzard

hello readers ... so, us ohioans had a "blizzard" this past week, well not technically. but, it was pretty darn close. 20 inches!!!I shoveled Gary's driveway the day before it, which was still some pretty intense snow.

The following day, here is Gary's driveway ... yikes!

And, I personally, have never seen one of these go down a residential street ...

gary, will not be snowed in ... he went to the grocery store that morning. five minutes before the big plow drove down his road. haha ... poor guy. he got stuck in my little corolla! i hope he thought the chili i made was worth it. ;)

We pretty much stayed in the most of Saturday. We were lucky enough that Lucas has a friend next door ... he was over at her house playing most of the day. I cooked, we watched movies, and just were totally lazy! It felt good, but slightly boring. We have so much to do right now with the wedding coming up in only 3 months ... and we didn't do squat! Oh well ...

As you can see, the following day, we went sledding. The snow had finally stopped and it was perfect weather for some sledding. We had so much fun! It was getting pretty crowded, but everyone was in good spirits and we all took turns watching our kids go down the hills.

It was strange though this year ... Lucas LOVED going down by himself last year. But, this year, it really took some convincing. We were both kind of disappointed, but towards the end, Lucas got back on his game and enjoyed going alone once again.

And, in case anyone cares, Lucas got into the Kindergarten we wanted him in. We are very excited. The way the application process was, you would've thought we were filling out college applications. I guess, even in Kindergarten, the environment is competitive. haha ... Yea Lucas! They don't know what they are in for. ;)
