2008 Blizzard

hello readers ... so, us ohioans had a "blizzard" this past week, well not technically. but, it was pretty darn close. 20 inches!!!I shoveled Gary's driveway the day before it, which was still some pretty intense snow.

The following day, here is Gary's driveway ... yikes!

And, I personally, have never seen one of these go down a residential street ...

gary, will not be snowed in ... he went to the grocery store that morning. five minutes before the big plow drove down his road. haha ... poor guy. he got stuck in my little corolla! i hope he thought the chili i made was worth it. ;)

We pretty much stayed in the most of Saturday. We were lucky enough that Lucas has a friend next door ... he was over at her house playing most of the day. I cooked, we watched movies, and just were totally lazy! It felt good, but slightly boring. We have so much to do right now with the wedding coming up in only 3 months ... and we didn't do squat! Oh well ...

As you can see, the following day, we went sledding. The snow had finally stopped and it was perfect weather for some sledding. We had so much fun! It was getting pretty crowded, but everyone was in good spirits and we all took turns watching our kids go down the hills.

It was strange though this year ... Lucas LOVED going down by himself last year. But, this year, it really took some convincing. We were both kind of disappointed, but towards the end, Lucas got back on his game and enjoyed going alone once again.

And, in case anyone cares, Lucas got into the Kindergarten we wanted him in. We are very excited. The way the application process was, you would've thought we were filling out college applications. I guess, even in Kindergarten, the environment is competitive. haha ... Yea Lucas! They don't know what they are in for. ;)

hello Valerie,

Just wanted to let you guys know, that your blog is fantastic. I really like the way those blizzard shots gave me a sense of it's ok to goof off and be lazy. You did have to shovel out though, so that's not quite true.

Sounds like the perfect snowed in weekend! :) I haven't been sledding since I was a kid I don't think? I love your pictures, especially the one of you and Lucas on the sled! :) Yeah for Lucas getting into kindi, whoot whoot!

What fun pics!! So glad Lucas got into the school you wanted. I'm sure he will give his teacher plenty of funny stories to take home and share with her "fam". I still laugh about some of those hilarious stories of when I used to teach kindergarten!
